The free crash-course classes started for Class-12 students at four government schools in the district received luke warm response on Monday. Reason - lack of communication.

Teachers on duty for the courses who spoke to the HT said respective school staffers have been busy with the Class-10 and 12 board examinations and were not able to inform students about the programme.

District science supervisor, Pradeep Aggarwal, said various school heads - of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Samrala; Government Secondary School, Raikot; Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Jagraon; and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar - have already been informed about the free crash course classes.

"I think we will get a response from students in a day or so after students are told about the benefits of these classes… that if they attend the lessons, they can secure better ranks in the competitive exams," he added.

The crash course will impart lessons to students who would be taking up tests in engineering and medical streams in their undergraduate courses. The free programme will run till May 8.
