The local police claimed to have solved a murder case which took place four months ago.
The revelation came from the accused identified as Balwinder Singh, a resident of village Navagaon, near Samana, who was arrested by the local police on March 17 in an arms act case.
Senior superintendent of police Hardial Singh Mann said during investigation, Balwinder confessed that he killed Jaswinder Singh, a resident of village Randhawa in Patiala district, on November 22, 2013.
The accused confessed that he owed ` 35 lakh to Jaswinder, which he had handed over to him after selling his ancestral property.
“When the victim demanded his money back, the accused took him to village Palore in Haryana on the pretext of meeting his estranged wife. The accused killed him by hitting a rod continuously on his head and threw his body into a drain”, he said.
A case in this regard has been registered at the Seevan police station in Haryana.
