From April 15, water wastage in Mohali to invite up to Rs 5,000 fine

No watering of lawns or washing of cars will be allowed from April 15 in SAS Nagar as the water supply and sanitation department has announced a ban on water wastage.

No watering of lawns or washing of cars will be allowed from April 15 in SAS Nagar as the water supply and sanitation department has announced a ban on water wastage.

As per the directives issued by the water supply and sanitation department from April 15 to June 30, the residents during the mornings cannot water lawns and flower pots in houses, wash scooters, cars with pipe directly connected to the tap, wash courtyards, floorings, roads or use pressure pumps directly installed on the pipeline.

To ensure strict compliance, the connection of water supply would be discontinued to houses that repeatedly violate directives

A fine of Rs 5,000 would be imposed and only after the owner of the house gives an undertaking on no further water wastage that the connection would be restored.
