GADVASU conducts elections for non-teaching staff

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) conducted its 'non teaching staff' elections on Thursday.

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) conducted its 'non teaching staff' elections on Thursday.

Rajinder Singh representing the 'United Front' group won by defeating the 'Employee Federation' group by 10 votes. Out of a total of 300 non teaching employees, 285 voted. The results were declared late on Thursday night.

Interestingly, Singh who relected as the president of the union. While talking about his priorities and responsibilities, he said, “It is a pleasure to get elected again. I will ensure that that all deserving employees are promoted to senior positions on time by the concerned university authorities. Also, they get all benefits as employees including proper leaves and many other concerns.”

Rajinder Kumar, the representative of Employee Federation said, “I congratulate Singh and hope he will continue with the good work.”

Besides, Manga Ram was appointed as as senior vice- president, Kulwant Singh as general secretary, Didar as treasurer and Santosh Rani, Karam Singh, Ashok Kumar and Sukhwinder Singh were elected as secretaries of the union. The winners celebrated after the results were announced.
