Gang of 'fraudsters' busted in Patiala

The police on Saurday claimed to have busted a gang of fraudsters following the arrest of five persons.


Senior superintendent of police Hardial Singh Mann said that the gang had prepared a forged cheque of the National Institute of Technology, Kurkshetra University, and had opened an account with the forged documents in the Punjab National Bank, Gur Mandi branch and AXIS Bank, DLF Colony branch, with an intention to defraud the people.

The accused have been identified as Baljinder Singh, Nand Kishore, Varinder Kumar, Sahib Singh alias Sabhi and Sahib Singh. Mann said on February 4, Tarlochan Singh, branch manager of Punjab National Bank, Gur Mandi branch, informed that the accused had opened an account (number 0379000102453895) in order to cheat the people.
