Talking to mediapersons, police commissioner (CP) Rajbir Deswal said that the police received a tip off after which they constituted a raiding party and nabbed the accused, while they were planning to execute a robbery.
He said the accused have been identified as Sindro, Shilo, Charno, Narinder alias Bunty, all residents of Sangrur, and Om Kant alias Ruby, a resident of Nabha (Punjab), adding that they would be produced in court on August 29.
Deswal said that sharp-edged weapons, including iron rods were recovered from them. A car has also been confiscated from them. They have admitted their involvement in six robberies in Ambala in the past four months. He said that after the incidents were reported, the police had launched a man hunt to nab them.
