The Amritsar (rural) police on Sunday nabbed gangster Jaggu, who was giving a tough time to the Punjab Police.
Though officials of the Amritsar (rural) police went incommunicado after the arrest, the city police confirmed it.
The Punjab Police was looking for the gangster in several cases and had launched a massive manhunt to nab him.
Notably, around a month back, the narcotic team of the Amritsar city police had “mistakenly” shot dead Akali leader Mukhjit Singh, while claiming that they were chasing Jaggu. The city police was criticised severely after the incident, while two of its cops were suspended.
Senior superintendent of police (Amritsar, rural) Jasdeep Singh was not available for comments despite several attempts.
