Wanted in 25 criminal cases including murder, drug peddling, armed robbery and extortion — at least five of these cases being registered in the city — Amritsar City Police would bring dreaded gangster Jagdeep Singh Jaggu on production warrant for questioning. Jaggu, arrested by Amritsar rural police and remanded to police custody on Monday, is wanted for the murder of Sanjeev Nayyar alias Babba.

As soon as Jaggu was nabbed by the police on Sunday night, Facebook posts were made from his account to inform the media about his arrest so that the police could not engage in an encounter with him. “During questioning Jaggu told us his Facebook was operated from Australia by a friend named Waaris. We’ll ensure he is also arrested,” IG Ishwar Chander said.
