The police are registering false cases against me,” read the FB post. “We work only to eliminate our enemies and don’t keep our acts secret. Don’t defame as we are lions and don’t indulge in such things,” read Gounder’s the post, who also sought support of his followers on FB.

In a daring daylight robbery, armed men looted Rs1.33 crore from a van belonging to a private bank after firing at its driver in Banur near Rajpura on May 2.

Next day, six armed men with their faces covered looted Rs 10 lakh and 50-gm gold from a bank at Sarawan Bodla village under Lambi assembly segment in Muktsar. Sarwan Bodla is Gounder’s native village.

Gounder had fled the Nabha high-security jail in November last year.
