Gas leakage: Two more succumbs to injuries, toll rises to four

With the death of mother-daughter, who succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Guru Nanak hospital, Amritsar, the death toll due to leakage in the LPG cylinder, which resulted into powerful blast, had risen to four.

The deceased was identified as Pooja and her twelve year old Jashan. Earlier, Pooja's eight year old son Sharan and four year old daughter, Rashmeet had already died on June 22.

It is to be noted that on June 21, six persons including five women were seriously injured and sustained more than 80% burn injuries, when a pipe of LPG cyclinder leaked while they were preparing community kitchen(langer) at their house at Dogra Mohalla.

The family members of Jaspal Singh and his neighbors were preparing community kitchen on a LPG cylinder when its pipe got leaked and Jasbir Kaur, Surjeet Kaur, Pooja, Rashmeet(14), Jashan(12) and Sharan(8) sustained burn injuries.

On seeing serious condition of Jasbir Kaur, Surjeet Kaur, Pooja, rashmeet(14), Jashan(12) and Sharan(8), the doctors referred them to Guru Nanak hospital Amritsar while Jasbir Kaur, was further referred to PGI, Chandigarh.
