Class 4 employees' union of the Government College for Girls (GCG) protested the removal of two workers by the principal, outside the campus on Tuesday.

Gurmail Singh, leader of Punjab Subordinate Employee Union said, "The Principal cannot take her own decisions by breaking the law. She has to give them back their job, otherwise we will intensify the protest." He said that union would burn the principal's effigy on November 14, if she did not roll back the decision.

The union also held a condolence meeting for an employee who recently died, and demanded that the job be given to a dependant. The other demands included promotion according to seniority and not through favouritism.

Gurmail Singh said the principal didn't allow the college employees to attend the condolence meet for an hour.
