The Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday refused to grant bail to the three accused in the Jalandhar hotelier Gurkerat Singh Gikki murder case and dismissed their petitions.

The three accused Amarpreet Singh, Jasdeep Singh and Amardeep Singh had approached the high court seeking regular bail. They are at present locked up in central jail Jalandhar along with the main accused Ram Simran Singh Makkar.

32-year-old Gurkerat Singh, son of hotelier Rajbir Singh, was shot dead on April 21 last year allegedly by Ram Simran Singh Makkar, nephew of SAD former MLA from Adampur, Sarabjit Singh Makkar, and his three accomplices.

An FIR was registered against Ram Simran Singh Makkar on April 21, last year under sections 302, 34 of the IPC and sections 25/27 of the Arms Act at police station, division no. 6 at Jalandhar.

The trial of the case is at present going on in Gurdaspur district court. The high court on a petition filed by Ram Simran Singh Makkar, seeking transfer of the trial outside Jalandhar, had transferred the case to Gurdaspur on September 20 last year.
