Making another breakthrough in the daring Gohana heist, a Special Investigative Team (SIT) has recovered about 6 kg ornaments from the house of one of the main accused in Katwal village, after police used high-powered metal detectors in their investigation.
New IGP Alok Kumar Roy had directed Sonepat SSP Arun Singh Nehra to investigate the case from a different angle by employing metal detectors used in VIP security.
Police said the ornaments weighing 5.975 kg were recovered from the house of Satish Duhan, one of the accused in the case.
Nehra said the recovery was made and sealed in the presence of Gohana DSP Rajiv Deswal, the tehsildar and members of the committee of victims of the robbery.
"With the latest finding, the total recovery tally is 49.885kg ornaments, cash worth `3.35 lakh, a country-made pistol and two live cartridges," the SSP added.
Investigation had established the alleged involvement of 10 people, namely, Rajesh, Satish, Balraj, Surender and Arvind of Katwal village; Mahipal of Kasandi village; Praveen and Sonu of Nidana village of Rohtak district and Rohit and Aman of Kutabgarh in New Delhi.
