Children amusement park - Gol Bagh, which falls under the purview of municipal corporation is in pitiable state.

With a step inside, the park, rather than with cheerful faces of kids playing around, welcomes you with dusty surroundings with heaps of garbage, broken swings and dry leaves scattered around.

Gol Bagh, which is located in front of Durgyana Mandir, one of the famous tourist destinations, shows the inefficiency of the authorities who are responsible for its maintenance.

With a visit to children amusement park, HT team observed that, the park was not covered with grass. Damaged swings, heaps of garbage in different corners ruin the aesthetic beauty of the amusement park.

The pitiable state of Children amusement park- Gol Bagh

Neither flower plants nor fountains had been placed inside the park to increase its beauty. A broken swing with a rubber tier on it is there for kids to sit on. No properly maintained benches or permanent seats had been made for visitors, especially for senior citizens. Except a skating corner, nothing is there for entertainment of kids.

The amusement park, could attract many tourist and pilgrims, who visit the holy temple round the year. Especially during Navaratri, huge crowd can be drawn, but the current condition prevents attracting any tourist or visitor.

When asked by the horticulture department about the reason for such condition, Jagdish Raj said, "Nothing has been done so far for the park. I have recently joined the office and not aware of what efforts had been made earlier. Fund crunch is a problem."

Me and other ministers have visited the park yesterday. We will take initiatives to improve the condition of the park

Voicing concern

During school time we often come to the park with friends. But the park does not look good and it's not even safe- Nidhi Wahi, local.

The swings have been remaining damaged for months. The park offers no amusement to kids-Ravi, local.

MC authorities should maintain the Gol Bagh park. It has been getting neglected for long - Sahira, student.

I don't find Gol Bagh park safe and prefer Company Park for fresh air and walk- Deepak, local.
