Junior Red Cross Model at Maccaki Mal Singh has become a rare government primary school to get its own flag. The vice-chairman of the Punjab school education board, Suresh Tandon; secretary Balwinder Singh; and deputy director (environment) Shruti Shukla put their signatures on the approval. Based on the concept of education, development, and environment, the flag is designed by schoolteacher Varinder Kumar.

Having own flag now is a matter of pride for the institution, a press release from the school has stated.
