Fruits and salad will be part of the menu in the hostel mess of students of senior secondary residential school for meritorious students.
The menu will start with a morning tea, than breakfast (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), followed by lunch comprising seasonal vegetables, rice, chappati, daal, salad. There will be evening tea with biscuits and cake piece and dinner (veg and non-veg) will be served, followed by a glass of milk with coco before the students go to sleep.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Daljit Singh Cheema, Punjab education minister, said, “The tenders have been called and the idea is to provide quality meals. The menu has been decided by keeping in mind the taste of the students. A sweet dish after dinner, snacks with the evening tea and milk with coco at night will be liked by the students. The mess contractor has to strictly follow the food menu given by the department.”
Paramjit Kaur Chahal, district education officer, secondary, said, “Keeping in mind the students’ taste, the menu has been decided by the authorities. I think, more students will opt for this school for next session as so many facilities are being provided free of cost to the students.”
