With the process of formulation of the state budget for the fiscal year 2014-15 set to start soon, the government has sought suggestions from the people.
In a press statement issued here, principal secretary finance Shrikant Baldi said suggestions had been sought from the general public, industries and trade, and farmers' associations to make the budget more people-friendly.
“This is not the first time that we have been seeking public opinion, last year too we had sought public opinion and incorporated in the general budget of the state,” he said.
He said various stakeholders in the society had reflected divergent views. In order to involve general public in the budget formation and to make it more people-friendly the move was very helpful.
“It will help the government frame policies and programmes, which are more development and people-oriented,” said Baldi.
Further he said the industries department was told to take up the matter with industries' associations to give suggestions for the budget. The government had sought suggestions from agriculture and horticulture departments as well. “The suggestions of farmers, horticulturists and their associations will be collected so that it can be incorporated in the budget.
