Scores of guest teachers facing termination, gheraoed the residence of transport minister Karan Dev Kamboj, in Indri, about 40 km from here on Wednesday.

As the minister was not home at the time of agitation, the protesting teachers briefly blocked the road and raised slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Block president of Haryana Guest Teachers Association (HGTA), Naresh Meet, accused the BJP leadership of harassing the guest faculty. He said that the association would continue its agitation till they were given regular jobs in government schools.

"We have been working in schools for almost a decade and the state government has shown uncompassionate attitude towards us.

Before elections last year, the BJP leadership had openly supported our agitation and announced that they would absorb us as regular employees if it came to power. Now they are not keeping their promise," said a protesting teacher Chandrawati.

However, as state government schools opened on Wednesday after the summer vacations, no report of any attempt of disruption of school working was reported.

On Tuesday, the HGTA had announced, in Mahendragarh, that schools be closed down in protest. They had claimed support of leaders from various khap community panchayats in their agitation.
