Gurus’ relics placed at Takht Keshgarh Sahib

Relics of the Sikh Gurus, which were brought to Anandpur Sahib from Patiala, were placed at the Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib in the city on Sunday.

The relics of Guru Hargobind Sahib, Teg Bahadur and Gobind Singh were brought here in a specially designed bus on June 18.The Dharmik Darshan Didar Yatra carrying the relics passed through various districts of the state before reaching here.

The relics include chola sahib, manuscript, hair, comb and turban, 20-inch iron arrow, threeand-a-half-inch long siri sahib, 30-inch-long wooden spear, sword, whip and five arrows relating to the three gurus.

Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib jathedar Giani Mal Singh said these relics would be displayed to devotees at the Takht Sahib from July 6. Meanwhile, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organised a thanksgiving function (shukrana samgam) on the successful completion of the celebrations relating to the 350th foundation day of Anandpur Sahib.

After bhog of Sri Akhand path at the Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, gubani kirtan was held at Sri Dasmesh hall.

On the occasion Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib jathedar Giani Mal Singh, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar thanked all the organisations, individuals, nihang organisations, sant samaj and devotees for their cooperation during the celebrations.

SGPC chief Makkar also honoured and individuals the heads of various organisations.

Takht Sri Damdama Sahib jathedar Giani Gurmukh Singh, Damdami Taksal head Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma, Taruna Dal chief Nihal Singh Harian Belan, Budha Dal chief Baba Balbir Singh, Baba Maan Singh Pehowa Wale and SGPC general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur also spoke on the occasion.
