Gym owner booked for raping, duping woman of Rs 50 lakh

A gym owner was booked on charges of allegedly raping a married woman on more than one occasion and also duping her of Rs 50 lakh, said police.
The accused, Jasvir Singh, resident of Aggar Nagar, also blackmailed and threatened to make public, a lewd video of the victim, said police. He owns a gym at Barewal road.
The victim had lodged a complaint to police commissioner in October 2014.
After conducting the probe, police have registered a case under Section 406 (breach of trust), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 420 (fraud), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

She also alleged that the accused had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from her on the pretext of expansion in gym and investment in other business.
The victim alleged that when she demanded her money back, the accused had started threatening her of circulating a lewd video of her, on social media and Whatsapp groups, that he had made by sedating her.
Assistant sub-inspector Ashwani Kumar, who is investigating the case, said that police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
