The district administration has decided to observe voters day on January 25.
The district level function will be held at local boy's school ground in which senior district level officers will be present.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting here on Friday with deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar on chair.
Singhmar told the meeting that cultural functions would also be held on this occasion and new young electors would be honoured. He said that the total number of electors in all five assembly segments of the district had reached 3,56,527 mark, including 1,81,758 female and 1, 74,768 male voters. He said that it was heartening to inform that female voters were in large number in the district.
Singhmar said that while 5,739 new voters were added to the previous list of 2013, as many as 2,406 old voters were deleted from the voters' lists as they had either died or left places or their names were entered at two places. In all, 3,726 new voters were added to the voters' list this time.
