Bathinda MP and SAD candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Sunday said that Congress candidate from Amritsar parliamentary constituency Captain Amarinder Singh had committed genocide with Sikh sentiments across the world by giving a clean chit to Jagdish Tytler for 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

She said that the clean chit given to Tytler by Congress leader is a clear case of political opportunism. "What about the hundreds of victims who have not only named Tytler as one of the main perpetrators but also stated under oath that they saw him leading mobs who were involved in riots," she said.

She expressed that Sikhs worldwide were looking for an end to the suffering of the victims and it can only happen if the people who led the riots are put behind bars.

"Lakhwinder Kaur, wife of one of the riot victims has filed a case against Tytler. However the CBI has not recorded the evidence of all the four prime witnesses who are abroad. Even the court has refused to close the case against Tytler and ordered a re-inquiry," she said.

She expressed that she was in Delhi during this turbulent period and the victims had told her that Congress leaders were leading the mobs.

"People know the role of Congress leaders and also understand that Captain Amarinder has some compulsions due to which he invented new story to save Tytler," she expressed.
