Harsimrat, Sampla statements on Abohar killing contradictory: AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a serious note of union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal citing the brutal Abohar killing as a ‘gang war’, saying it was shameful that in place of providing justice to the victim’s family, she was making lame excuses in the Lok Sabha.

AAP MP Bhagwant Mann pointed out in a statement here that on the same day, another union minister Vijay Kumar Sampla of the BJP visited the family and told the media that the case had nothing to do with gang war. He said Sampla also accused SAD leader Shiv Lal Doda and nephew Amit of the brutal murder. “Sampla also considered the killing as the most brutal attack ever reported in Punjab,” Mann pointed out, demanding clarification from the Punjab government on Sampla’s statement. Mann said Sampla had also contradicted the version of Punjab Police.

“After the killing, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had also dubbed it as a normal happening claiming that Punjab is lesser prone to incidents like this than other states,” he said.

Mann claimed, “The photographs of Shiv Lal Doda with Badal during sangat darshan and rallies unmask the latter’s lies. Even the office of the SAD Abohar unit is situated on the land belonging to Doda.”
