Haryana drug smuggler arrested with 100gm smack

The district police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an alleged Haryana-based drug smuggler for his involvement in the interstate smuggling of drugs and seized 100gm smack from his possession.

According to the police, the youth has been identified as Raman Kumar of Uklana town of Hisar district of Haryana. The cost of the seized smack is nearly Rs 1 lakh.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that the youth was arrested by a police party, led by Kewal Krishan of CIA, Bahadur Singh Wala, during a routine checking at a check post.

During the interrogation, the accused admitted that he had brought the smack from Haryana and also disclosed his links with drug smugglers in the state.

The district police have decided take help of the Haryana police to trace out his links with other smugglers in Haryana and Punjab, added the SSP

He said that a case under sections 21, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Sangrur (city) police station.
