Nearly a month after employees of various state government departments went on strike, the Haryana employees coordination committee on Monday threatened to call a strike unless the government regularised contractual employees and halted privasation of various departments.

In a release committee general secretary Subhash Lamba claimed that the government continued to ignore their demands.despite repeated representations by employees.

The release said two meetings with representatives of the state government, one on January 24 and the other on February 18, had yielded no results.

The committee is scheduled to meet government officials on February 26 to work out a solution.

Lamba said the association would hold demonstrations on February 28 and later decide the dates for the planned strike if nothing "concrete" came of the meeting.

Haryana employees have been seeking regularisation of over one lakh contractual workers and filling up vacancies in various departments, among other things.

After a three-day strike called from January 21 paralysed essential services in the state, the government had scheduled meetings with them to look into their demands.
