Haryana finance minister Capt Ahbimanyu Singh on Saturday hailed the budget presented by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley as "progressive, inclusive, growth-oriented and one that will prove to be a turning point in the history of Indian economy".
"The budgetary proposals will promote ease of doing business, make the economic system of the country more stable and induce inclusive growth. They will also enable the upliftment of the poor sections of the society to above poverty line," the BJP leader told HT.
Abhimanyu also said the initiatives announced by the finance minister would invigorate the manufacturing sector and induce growth in employment.
On the budgetary proposals related to Haryana, the minister said, besides, the announcement on setting up of Apprentice Training Institute for Women, the increase in the credit outlay for agriculture to Rs 8.5 lakh crore was highly appreciable. The scheme for rural development would also help in uplifting the quality of life in the rural areas.
