The Haryana government has decided to provide home peon facility to certain categories of officers working for the state. On Monday, an official spokesperson said the facility would be provided to all the All India Service (IAS) officers, judicial officers and heads of departments working for the state.

Similarly, all Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officers working for the state, who exercised the magisterial powers by virtue of their posting, would also be given this facility.

Officers would be allowed to engage a home peon at statutory minimum wages for unskilled labour as fixed by the state government.

Reimbursement of the remuneration given to the home peon would be made to the eligible officers by the disbursing and drawing officer (DDO) on submission of a self-certificate in this behalf. Once an officer avails the services of a home peon, they would not be entitled to use the services of any other Class-4 government employee at their residence.
