Education minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Friday said the state government has sent a proposal to the Centre for conducting board examinations for Classes 5 and 8 in Haryana.
Education minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Friday said the state government has sent a proposal to the Centre for conducting board examinations for Classes 5 and 8 in Haryana.
Speaking at a meeting of the sub-committee of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE), under the education division of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, in New Delhi, Sharma said 22 states had sent a proposal to the Centre for removing the no-detention policy to reduce the dropout rate.

Sharma, who is also the deputy chairman of the sub-committee, said that meetings should be conducted at places where the dropout rate was high. The meeting was presided over by Union minister of state Upendra Kushwaha.
