Haryana govt to honour Baba Ramdev on April 21

Haryana health minister Anil Vij on Friday said that the state government would hold a function to honour Yoga Guru Ramdev on April 21 at Sports School, Rai, in Sonepat district.

Stating that chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar would chair the function, Vij said that Ramdev was made the brand ambassador of the state to promote Yoga and Ayurveda in the state. He would be given the status of a cabinet minister, Vij said and added that he would sign an agreement letter on the occasion.

Under his guidance, Ayurveda and Yoga would be promoted extensively in the state.

Vij said that at present 550 doctors of Ayush department were being trained at Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar. As many as 105 doctors of the Ayush department had been provided training and rest of them would also be provided training soon. Besides, the state government was setting up a herbal forest where as many as 25,000 saplings of different varieties from all over the world would be planted.
