In an attempt to sustain 5% growth rate in the domestic dairy sector, the state government has decided to constitute livestock development mission in Haryana.
After inaugurating a veterinary dispensary here at Anjanthali village on Sunday afternoon, Hooda said that for the past five years, the milk production had been seeing an annual increase of 5%.
He said that the mission would help in boosting the dairy industry of the state.
He said: "Haryana has become the first state in the country to treat the livestock as per the guidelines of OIE, a Paris-based world organisation for animal health."
Several welfare schemes, including renovating veterinary hospitals, doctors, livestock insurance, and subsidies on dairy tools have been introduced.
Farmers are provided financial aid up to 75% for setting up milk sale points while a sum of Rs 12 lakh are given as grant for establishing a dairy unit by the state government.
