HC bids farewell to justice Kuldip Singh

The Himachal Pradesh high court on Thursday gave a warm send-off to justice Kuldip Singh. He was presented a guard of honour, a red carpet and warm farewell by the High Court Employees' Welfare Association. Earlier, on January 10, a full-court address had already been held before the winter vacation in high court for according the farewell to the outgoing judge.

The Himachal Pradesh high court on Thursday gave a warm send-off to justice Kuldip Singh. He was presented a guard of honour, a red carpet and warm farewell by the High Court Employees' Welfare Association. Earlier, on January 10, a full-court address had already been held before the winter vacation in high court for according the farewell to the outgoing judge.


Justice Kuldeep Singh was appointed as the additional Judge of Himachal Pradesh high court on April 3, 2007, and confirmed as a permanent Judge on April 2, 2012.

Speaking on the occasion, Himachal Pradesh acting chief justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir described justice Kuldip Singh as a good judge and a good human being. "He is a person who has spread fragrance of his knowledge all over the state," said Mir.

Norn on January 17, 1952 and enrolled as an advocate in 1975, Kuldeep Singh started practice in the district courts of Nahan and stayed there for about two years, and later shifted to Shimla.

He was designated as a senior advocate in 1999. He also remained the vice-president and then president of the high court bar association and a nominated member of high court legal services committee as well as member of rules committee.

New judge to take oath

Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary will be sworn in as a judge of the Himachal Pradesh high court on January 18, 2014. Justice Chaudhary was appointed an additional judge of the gigh court on January 21, 2012, and has held several important posts in the state judiciary earlier.
