Taking up the petition of Harayana Janhit Congress (HJC) supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi, challenging Haryana Assembly speaker's order in case of merger of 5 HJC MLA's, the high court on Monday issued notices to the speaker, election commission and the MLAs for March 5.
HC has also summoned complete record of the case.
The speaker had accepted the merger on January 13 and had directed that the five MLAS would be recognised as Congress legislators in Haryana assembly.
In November 2009, four MLAs of Kuldeep Bishnoi's HJC-- Satpal Sangwan,Vinod Bhayana, Narendra Singh and Zile Ram Sharma -wrote to the then assembly speaker expressing their intention to merge the HJC (BL) with the Congress in terms of the provisions the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution.
The Speaker was requested to accept the merger and to recognise the legislators as members of the Congress in Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
