The Punjab and Haryana high court has issued notices to officials concerned, directing them to complete the construction of drains, meant to direct sewage water out of Bilga village, till September 25.
the Jalandhar deputy commissioner, district development and panchayat officer, Nurmahal block development and panchayat officer, Bilga station house officer, former Bilga sarpanch and eight residents of Bilga village on a civil writ petition to complete the construction work of the drains for the directing sewage water out of the village till September 25.
Justice RK Jain issued notice of motion on a petition filed by Roshan Lal and seven other residents of Patti Bhoja village. They submitted the seven residents of the area had blocked drains as a result of which dirty and rain water was stagnate in the street and had created hazardous atmosphere in their area making their living a hell. They submitted that the officials concerned had failed to listen to their grievances despite repeated requests.
