Cable operator Rajwinder Singh submitted that Talwandi Sabo police were raiding his premises regularly to force him to withdraw a petition against Fastway. “They are harassing my brothers as well on the pretext that I cut Fastway cables in May. They even detained me in this matter and released me only after some local people intervened,” he further submitted.
The high court bench of justice Rajan Gupta has sought the government response by July 20. In this matter, 29 cable operators of Punjab had made Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Fastway managing director Gurdeep Singh parties to the case and sought that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) be asked to look into the police-harassment allegation.
