A team of health department and municipal corporation (MC) found mosquito larva in Abdullahpur Basti during raids on Monday morning, bringing out the vulnerable condition of the residents of the area.
The team members, who visited the area, said during this time of the year, mosquito larva were found and collected by the team to ascertain whether it contained malaria and dengue mosquito.
Manpreet Singh, inspector of malaria wing of the health department, said several teams in different areas had collected mosquito larva and a consolidated report would be brought out soon.
Singh said people should not allow stagnant water in their homes, including coolers, pots and other areas, which could become breeding ground for the mosquitoes.
The teams of the MC as well as the health department made daily raids in different areas of the city to find out stagnant water. In many areas of the city, mosquito larva was found in the recent past.
