A local court on Friday deferred hearing on the anticipatory bail pleas of the owners of National Kidney Hospital, including Dr Rajesh Aggarwal and his wife Deepa Aggarwal, till August 18 after the police reportedly failed to produce records with regard to the case before the court.

Both had filed anticipatory bail pleas in the court on Thursday, apprehending that they may be arrested anytime by the police in the kidney racket, which was busted by the city police on July 31with the arrest of Junaid Ahmed Khan and Kuldeep Kumar of Faridabad in Haryana, Sabur Ahmed Khan and Vardan Chander Rao of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.

However, the city police produced the arrested accused, including hospital employee Sadhna, and lab helper Harwinder in the court, which sent both to judicial custody till August 28.
