Heat claims life in Amritsar; rainy weekend forecast

As the city registered a maximum temperature of 42.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees above the normal for this time of the year, and the minimum temperature also three degrees above normal at 22.6 degrees Celsius, an unidentified body of man was recovered from the area of the C Division police station with the police suspecting it to be a death due to the heat wave. C Division police station ASI Kanwaljit Singh said efforts were on to identified the deceased.

Interestingly, the weatherman sees the possibility of a thundery development with partly cloudy sky for the next 24 hours. The forecast is that there is a possibility of rain or thunderstorm for May 9 and 10. Thunderstorm with rain is predicted for May 11 and 12 with party cloudy weather with possibility of rain of thunderstorm for May 13 and partly cloudy sky for May 14.
