Aimed at strengthening its connect with the masses, the state Congress party on Tuesday said it will hold a three-day convention from February 8 to discuss some key issues.
“The convention is being organised on direction of All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief, Sonia Gandhi,” said Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief spokesperson, Naresh Chauhan.
Chauhan said Sonia has asked all the state units of the Congress for suggestions to improve the party's functioning at the grassroots level.
He said the Congress members will deliberate on three core issues - spreading the Congress ideology, accountability of leaders besides inclusion of party workers in decision making processes at all levels.
“The three-day convention would be attended by AICC general secretary and in-charge of party affairs in Himachal Ambika Soni, chief minister Virbhadra Singh, HPCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and AICC secretary and co-incharge of Himachal, Raja Rampal Singh,” Chauhan added.
