The Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP), the breakaway faction of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Tuesday dubbed the Virbhadra Singh government's one year's rule as dissatisfactory.
“The pace of development in the state during the last one year has been slowed down and the departments are engaged only in issuing statements,” said HLP vice-president Khushi Ram Balnahatah while addressing mediapersons.
Referring to the Congress' election manifesto, HLP leader said the Congress had promised to give unemployment allowance to the youth of the state, but after assuming power it, instead, launched skill development allowance scheme. “The Congress government has hoodwinked the youth of the state,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also slammed the BJP for failure to play the role of a responsible Opposition. He said the BJP had become a “defending council” of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA). “Over 60% press statements of Prem Kumar Dhumal are on HPCA, while there are many other issues of public importance,” he said.
