Hosiery worker hangs self to death

The body of a 22-year-old youth was found hanging in a room at his home in mysterious circumstances on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Govind Kumar of Fatehgarh Mohalla at Salem Tabri. He worked as a hosiery worker.

The body was spotted hanging ht the deceased's nephew, who informed the family. The nephew and sister-in-law of the deceased were present in the house at the time of the incident.

As per information, hands of the youth were tied and his family in spite of informing the police took the body to hospital.

Govind went to the hosiery around 9am, but returned after two hours. The parents of the deceased took the body to hospital that made the police suspicious. The police have sent the body to civil hospital for post-mortem examination.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sukhpal Singh said the matter was under investigation and the post-mortem report would clear the things.

Proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC have been filed at the Salem Tabri police station.
