With a demand to fill up the vacancies in the state secretariat, a deputation of the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Services Association (HPSSEA) on Wednesday met chief minister Virbhadra Singh here.

Deputation led by chief pattern Daulat Chauhan and president Rajender Sharma, raised the demands of the association and urged the chief minister to fill up the posts of senior assistants and provide secretariat pay to clerks posted on contract basis. “Staff shortage is resulting into work load in the branches of the secretariat,” said Chauhan and Sharma.

The deputation also apprised the chief minister of the confusion by instruction of the finance department regarding Punjab pay commission and Punjab pay pattern. It also told the chief minister that there was a move to curtail the earned leave benefits of the employees, which was totally against the Punjab pay pattern.

It also said that several experiments had been done with assured carrier progression scheme (4-9-14), which was causing resentment amongst the employees.

The chief minister assured to look into the matters raised by the deputation.
