HPU discusses research collaboration issue with US varsity

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) on Monday discussed several issues with Michigan Technological University (MTU) of United States of America (USA) for research collaboration in the near future.

Collaboration will be in field of students exchange and faculty exchange pattern, the one which has been going on between the physics department of the two universities for the last two years in the area of material science and nano- technology.

HPU vice chancellor ADN Bajpai and Dean, Sciences and Arts, MTU, Bruce Seely, held a meeting here in Shimla. Seely delivered a lecture on implications of nano sciences and technology to the society. “Since nano science is coming out with solutions, which can have lot of ethical concerns, this area cannot be left out in the laboratories of sciences and technology,” said he.

Bajpai said the two universities would have long term effect on issues of nano technology and ethical concerns.
