Husband arrested in Goniana woman suicide case

The police have arrested Gurlal Singh Brar, husband of Amanpreet Kaur, who had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a waterworks tank along with her two minor daughters in Goniana town near here.

The police have arrested Gurlal Singh Brar, husband of Amanpreet Kaur, who had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a waterworks tank along with her two minor daughters in Goniana town near here.

SP (headquarters) Jasvir Singh, who is heading a special investigation in the case, said that the search for other accused people was on. The other accused in the case are Gurlal's uncle and district Youth Akali Dal president Balkar Singh Brar, his wife Rupinder Kaur, Balkar's brothers Ikktar Singh Brar and Onkar Singh Brar and their wives Jasbir Kaur and Gaganpreet Kaur.

They have been booked under Section 304-B of the IPC for abetting suicide by the woman along with her daughters Guneet Kaur (4) and Mehreen Kaur (1). Their bodies were found in a waterworks tank in Goniana on November 15 morning.
