The Rama Mandi police have arrested Ashu Arora, husband of deceased Neha Arora (22) who committed suicide on Thursday night for abetment of suicide on the statement of Neha's family members.

The family members claim Neha was upset and under immense pressure due to Ashu's attitudeas he did not allow her to talk to them. They alleged that whenever Neha tried to contact them, he stopped her.

After recording the statement of Neha's family members, a case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) was registered against him and he was sent to jail after being produced in local courts on Friday.

Neha committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Maan Singh Nagar on Thursday night. Neha and her husband Ashu Arora had a love marriage three years ago against the wishes of her parents.

Her husband, who was not at home when the incident occurred, had told the police that she was missing her parents which could be the reason behind her suicide.

It is pertinent to mention here that in February 2013, Neha had arranged a press conference against the Patara police when they had arrested Ashu, alleging that her husband was being framed in a case when the police conducted a raid and seized unauthorised narcotics in bulk from a chemist store run by Rahul Goyal where Ashu was an employee.

After her allegations, an inquiry was conducted by the police and Ashu's name was cleared from the case.
