Sarpanch of Takhran Khokhran village Rajwinder Kaur, whose husband has been booked for murdering two youths in Jamalpur, on Monday alleged that her husband was falsely implicated in the case, and demanded an independent inquiry.

She alleged that Harinder Singh and Jatinder Singh, along with their accomplices, had thrashed her nephew, Harmanpinder Singh, who was still in a critical condition. Following the attack, the brothers were booked for attempt to kill.

She further added that her husband, Gurjeet Singh, had no rivalry with the deceased, as alleged by their father Satpal Singh.

“My husband left the house on Saturday at 7am. After sometime, I came to know that my husband was arrested for murders,” she said.

Rajdeep Singh, brother of Gurjeet Singh, claimed that no one from the family was being allowed to talk to Gurjeet, adding that his brother was a generous person and had helped many underprivileged families of the village.

Claiming that their lives were under threat, Rajdeep alleged that a friend of Harinder and Jatinder had uploaded a status on Facebook wherein they had threatened him of revenge.
