To fight the menace of drug addiction and other social evils, inspector general of police (IGP), intelligence, Jitendra Jain has created a Facebook page "India for Social Cause" binding together all the social organisations.
Jain said here on Thursday that, using the potent tool of social networking, this Facebook page would unite all the organisations working in the field of education, health, youth, sports, environment, yoga, de-addiction environment etc.
"This will be a common social platform recognising individual and institutional efforts aimed at social good. Two coordination committees have been formed that would analyse the performances of each organisation. Every month, these committees will honour an NGO of the month. Similarly, at the end of the year, three NGOs will be selected as best performing organisations and 10 NGOs will be awarded consolation prizes," he said.
Meanwhile, the short movie 'Dreams Unlimited', made by Abhinandan Jain, son of the IGP, launched last week highlighting youngsters' dreams and challenges and another movie 'IDEA - An Idea for better life" were screened on Thursday at the circuit house to representatives of NGOs.
Jain added that the coordination committees would also earmark the places and dates where short movies 'Dreams Unlimited' and 'IDEA - An Idea for better life' would be screened, seminars would be held, youngsters would be administered oath against drug addiction and the already going-on signature campaign intensified.
