On Saturday too, Jaitley wrote down a campaign diary where he touched his experience of inaugural rally at Attari apart from few other elements. Interesting is that the diary written by Jaitley is posted both in Hindi and English.

Even pictures of campaign are posted on the FB page and already comments from the followers have started pouring in.

With mass following on Facebook Page and twitter handle, the effort seems to use this new age tool in the best way.

Talking on this, Jaitley said, “I have been writing on issues since past sometime. Now I have also started writing campaign diary and updating things related to Amritsar on my FB page. This is a very impactful medium with great reach.”

With Jaitley seemingly active on social networking sites, his opponent Capt. Amarinder Singh, who is still to reach Amritsar for the fight, is yet to make inroads in this cyber campaign.

Team to handle social media campaign, have dedicated office

With major eye on social media campaign, a dedicated team is set to start work for uploading activities and handle the campaign through web.

Subhash Sharma, secretary Punjab BJP, who is handling the media affairs of the BJP candidate said, “A team of around 15 to 20 people is coming that will be put on job to handle social media. An office in this regard will be inaugurated in a day or two and some team members are coming from Delhi as well.”

Terming this as a vital tool, Sharma said, “As per our input there are 4 lakh Facebook users in Amritsar Parliamentary constituency. Although major part of the constituency is rural, the mobile penetration in rural segment is of great amount. We are trying to capture all.”

Sharma stressed that youth today highly depends on the internet and social sites and campaign through it brings good results.
