The police have booked in-laws of a woman for allegedly molesting and wrongfully confining her.
The victim, who is resident of Daad village, runs a clinic with her husband.
In her complaint, she alleged that following some property disputes in the family, on Monday evening her 72-year-old father-in-law Harjap Singh, along with other family members - mother-in-law, brother-in-law and his wife - turned up at her house.
She alleged that the accused molested her and torn her clothes. When she tried to escape from the house, she found that the accused had already bolted the door from inside. Meanwhile, her mother-in-law, brother-in-law and his wife were standing outside the house to keep a tab on the visitors to the house.
As soon as her husband appeared there, the accused fled from the spot threatening them, she added. Following which they informed the police, who registered a case on her complaint.
Sadar SHO Amandeep Singh Brar said, "It is a dispute of property. The police have lodged an FIR under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 354B (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC following the statement of the victim. The police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused. The woman was taken to civil hospital for medical examination."
