Family members of Gurpreet Kaur, 26, in Balachaur town of Punjab’s Nawanshahr district are in a state of shock ever since they were told about her being found dead under mysterious circumstances at her workplace in Manurewa, South Auckland, on May 10. Gurpreet worked at a private IT company.

Gurpreet’s mother and two elder brothers live in Balachaur, while her father works in a construction firm in Dubai. The family is awaiting the post-mortem report.

Her father, Balbir Singh, is returning home on Sunday after which the family will take a call on where to perform the last rites.

According to sources, Gurpreet’s employer found her dead at the workplace with injury marks on her neck at 5 pm on May 10. Police were called to the scene, and the body was sent for post-mortem. The case has been referred to the coroner.
