TV show India's Got Talent star and one-legged dancer Shubhreet Kaur Ghumman has lodged a police complaint against her husband and in-laws accusing them of harassing her for dowry.
Shubhreet, who had married Chandigarh-based gym owner Yash Makkar, told the Hindustan Times, "I have filed the complaint and met Sangrur SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu who has marked it to another officer."
However, Shubhreet refused to disclose the content of the complaint saying, "I cannot tell you what I have written in my complaint, and I will disclose this after consulting my lawyer."
SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said, "On Thursday, she met me and filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws and I immediately forwarded it to DSP (special) Gurmeet Kaur. But, as she was transferred on Friday, now the complaint will be forwarded to a new officer."
On the allegations in the complaint, the SSP said, "This is a simple complaint as she has accused her husband and in-laws of harassing her for dowry and demanding her land."
It may be recalled here that on July 30, Shubhreet had accused her husband of marrying her by giving false details of her family background and duping her of about `20 lakh, including `4 lakh spent on her marriage.
According to Shubhreet, on June 5, she got married with Yash Makker in Malerkotla town of the district. Then they shifted to a rented flat in Mohali. But on July 21, Yash left the flat and did not return and his mobile was found switched off.
